I wanted to give everyone a little update, but also give you an inside scoop on the latest happenings in the Savage household.
Obviously, I’ve been busy writing Reaper, but a lot has happened in my personal and professional life, which means I need to share a few things with you all since you have been such dedicated readers and love this series and these characters so much.
So here’s me being vulnerable with you.
2024 was my year. Tons of people discovered the Unmasked Series. I quit my job, became a full-time author, got married, and got the most amazing cast of voice actors to narrate my best-selling series.
Then 2025 came in and turned my life upside down. I hit a creative wall. My husband was injured at work and was at home 24/7 (can we say distraction at its finest?) and my attention was constantly divided between learning to run a business, writing, marketing, managing a street team, and being a support system for my husband.
It took me a year to write Viper because of it all. But Viper’s story is one that resonates with many readers and needed to be told, so I pushed on when it felt impossible. Parts of my story made its way onto those pages, which was hard, and many days were spent decompressing and reassuring myself that I wasn’t making a huge mistake with the storyline.
Last year was tough. Not just from watching my husband struggle, but struggling myself with imposter syndrome, yet I rallied and got through it thanks to a strong support system and all of you and your love for these books.
Now it’s 2026, and I’m a solid year and a half behind schedule.
On a good note, my husband is healthy and working and my brain is refocusing.
On a not so great note, the 5th book is still in draft stages.
And the last note, the entire reason I’m sending this to you… Viper’s audiobook. Everyone is cast (including Reaper) but production to finalize the book won’t happen until close to the end of the year. That is no one’s fault and entirely about scheduling. If I didn’t delay the production, my only option to get the audiobook sooner was to replace a narrator. Obviously, that couldn’t happen. The books deserve the best, and so do you all.
I can say I’m so excited for the audio, and cannot wait to announce the voice actor cast for Reaper (you guys are going to scream). I am curious who you all think it’s going to be… (hit reply and take a guess!)
Thank you all for traveling with me on this crazy journey. I’m insanely lucky to be living my dream as an author, and it’s only because of this entire community and the Unmasked Series fans that it’s possible.
Happy Reading,
Fanny Lee
